Go on a tour in Ribe and listen to the talented guides while they tell stories and legends about old days. The tour is including a visit in either Ribe Domkirke or St. Catharinæ Church and Abbey.

Meet the locals, when they on Tuesdays meet up with all their many nice and old cars, scooters motorcycles and mopeds for car meeting on the meadow (Hovedengen) in Ribe.
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN’S ROUNDS

Follow the watchman, listen to his singing and stories when he goes his traditional round through the town and its historical streets, and tells about the history of Ribe.

INTERNATIONAL VIKING MARKET

Experience the outstanding market atmosphere when craftsmen, warriors, archers, riders, jokers and other good people meet up in Ribe.
CANCELLED – TULIP FESTIVAL IN RIBE
May 21 – 24, 2021
Experience the great atmosphere and lots of good music on the streets, as well as the grand tulip parade, which marks the ending of the festive days.
Visit one of the most important harbours on the west coast from the Viking period and up to about the 17th century. Here was traded with agricultural products and they imported wine, salt, silk, spices, and much more.
RIBE MEDIEVAL TOWN
With its exclusive title as the oldest and best preserved medieval town in Denmark, Ribe offers an outstanding atmosphere.
ST. CATHARINÆ CHURCH AND ABBEY
Behind the beautiful St. Catharinæ Church is the medieval monastic yard, which is a part of one of the best-preserved monastic buildings in Denmark. Feel the presence of history and enjoy the beautiful buildings and the silence in the yard.
Take a look at the old ruin remains from where Riberhus Castle was and the elegant bronze sculpture of Queen Dagmar, which depicts her at the stern of a ship that led her to Ribe.
THE OLD TOWN HALL
Experience the presence of history when you visit The Old Town Hall in Ribe, be guided around the historical rooms and hear the gruesome stories.
HEX! – MUSEUM OF WITCH HUNT
The museum tells the scary story about the fear of witches that seriously affected Denmark and Europe in the 16th and 17th century.
RIBE ART MUSEUM
In the beautiful rooms of Ribe Art Museum you can see special exhibitions and follow the story about danish art from 1750 to 1950 in the permanent collection.
THE MUSEUM RIBES VIKINGER
Get the story told about the history right beneath your feet. The exhibition shows how Ribe occurred and how the citizens lived when Ribe was an important trading town in Europe.
Travel 1300 years back in time to when the Vikings ruled in Ripa (Ribe). At Ribe VikingeCenter the story about the old danes is alive and you are a part of it!
MINI ZOO – RIBELUND
Enjoy the scenic surroundings and come close to the deers, goats, donkeys, horses, bird haven and small kangaroos.
Taste the local produced beer of high quality from Ribe Bryghus. Here is something for all beer-lovers, with the possibility to follow the brewing process and enjoy the smell of malt and hops.
RIBE PLANTATION AND GALLOWS TRAY
Visit the Gallows Tray in Ribe Plantation and see where the witch-burning took place. Among others was Maren Splid executed here in 1641 – maybe Denmark’s best known “witch”.
RIBE SWIMMING BATH
Enjoy a couple of fun hours with the family in Ribe Swimming Bath. Here you find both diving boards, a water slide and 3 different pools.
THE WADDEN SEA NATIONAL PARK
Experienced in March – April
Experience when the starlings gather in the night sky in the spring. It is an amazing sight when 100.000 or even up to 1.500.000 starlings dances in the night sky above the marsh before they go to rest in the reed forests.
SEAL SAFARI IN THE WADDEN SEA
Experienced in March – May
Experience the seals in their natural habitat. It is possible to see the seals on foot, with tractor bus or with tour boat.
OYSTERSAFARI IN THE WADDEN SEA
Experienced in March – April
An oystersafari is an outstanding nature experience. The trip goes to the large mussel banks in the Wadden Sea, where there is oysters everywhere.
VESTER VEDSTED VINEYARD
A small family business that forms the framework of a winery, a microbrewery, destillery, a shop selling its own and local goods as well as a cozy and atmospheric restaurant.
The exhibition will open your eyes, bring you close and let you touch it, give you and your family knowledge about the tide, wildlife, storm surges, migratory birds and their giant swarms.
RIBE WATERWAY LOCK
Ribe River has its outlet in the Wadden Sea at Ribe Waterway Lock. The Waterway Lock was build in 1912 in connection with the construction of the dike, which was build after multiple storm surges in Ribe.
Go with the Mandø bus and experience the trip to the pearl of the Wadden Sea – Mandø, where the schedule is decided by the tide.
Mandø is located right in the middle of the Wadden Sea National Park and offers extraordinary nature experiences. Here you can visit the mill, the museum, the church and the storm surg post among other things.
Mandø can only be visited at low tide.
