Ribe is the oldest town of northern Europe and the best preserved medieval town in Denmark with copperstones, half-timbered houses, chimes from the cathedral and Ribe Å, which runs through the city center and gives a very special atmosphere. Ribe has many small specialty shops, restaurants and cozy sidewalk cafes that also offers local products.

Nationalpark Wadden Sea

The Nationalpark Wadden Sea is the largest national park in Denmark. It extends from the Danish-German border to Blåvandshuk and has an area of 1,459 km2, of which about 300 km2 is mainland. In 2014, about 80% of the National Park Wadden Sea was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site because of its unique universal value. So now the entire Wadden Sea mudflat has the status of a World Heritage along Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Wadden Sea is a unique march and tidal area of international importance. Here, nature rules in perpetual change, because tides and waves change the landscape every day. The tide also produces an enormous production of worms, snails, shells and crustaceans in the large wading surfaces, which are thawed about twice a day. It is crucial for millions of migratory birds that come to the Wadden Sea every spring and fall to embark on their journey to eat and to rest.

Discover the Nationalpark Wadden Sea on your own, with guided tours about seals, the Black Sun, oysters, migratory birds, guided horse-drawn carriage tours, tides, enchanting sunsets, culinary experiences with the local products of the National Park, visit the many unique museums in the region, such as.. the newly built Wadden Sea Center. Here are many unique experiences.
